I still have to hem the bottoms and add the buttons and buttonholes. I briefly considered pushing through to finish it -- inspired by (or feeling competitive?) all the other Kids Clothing Week Challenge peeps who have already posted their first projects in the flickr group.
Today it rained some more. Right after I hung a load of laundry to dry. Our balcony is a mess from the storm yesterday. Our washing machine is outside and uncovered. I did not appreciate being greeted by a wet and dirty washing machine this morning. At least there wasn't a snail inside this time. We don't have a dryer here in China (most people don't) and for the most part, I love that we are now line-drying our clothes. But when it rains, it becomes impossible to do laundry. And I can no longer do laundry at night now. Well, I suppose I could, but it doesn't dry if left outside over night and we run the risk of rain.
I thought this presented a problem for Project #2, since I wouldn't have any washed fabric. As it turns out, I did wash the blue oxford shirting when I brought it home from the fabric market a few weeks ago. Yeah for me! I would have preferred to move onto the pajamas next, but I'll take what I can get.
Perhaps I'll cut the pattern out tonight while watching Boston Legal, Season 4 (I have not seen seasons 1-3 but Chris brought it home from the DVD cabinet at school and I'm hooked -- the pickings are pretty slim here so I'll take what I can get!).
Tomorrow is Mid-Autumn Day and school is closed -- another
