kids clothes week challenge

I'm excited to participate in kids cothes week challenge hosted at elsiemarley.com.  The challenge is to sew clothes for your kids (or kid, singular, in my case) every day next week for one hour.  I have so many projects in queue right now, it will be hard to pick which one to start with.  I'm planning to make the majority of Dag's cool-weather clothes (provided cool weather ever arrives here in Xiamen -- it's still ridiculously hot but I hear that by the end of October, the heat subsides).

On tap for falll/winter:

Two pairs of "overmost" overalls from Whipstitch -- one in red fine wale corduroy lined with blue shirting, the other in blue fine wale corduroy, lining TBD (all fabric purchased at the local fabric market here -- more on that in another post).  This is a PDF pattern, which I've previously avoided.  I love the feel and look of a prettily packaged pattern.  But now it is rather difficult for me to order and receive new patterns so I'm a PDF convert.

Two Oliver + S Sketchbook Shirts -- one in blue oxford and the other in a blue and white striped oxford.

One Woodlands Shirt by Sew Liberated in a neutral colored linen.

A pair of pajamas in a funky mushroom print from Jay McCarroll's Woodland Wonderland collection (do you remember him from Project Runway?).  I'm going to use the Oliver + S Bedtime Story pattern for the bottoms (love the pants from this pattern) and try a more traditional pajama top from an Indygo Junction pattern.

And I have three new patterns currently in the mail to me (this could take awhile).  I'm so excited about these patterns though:

Dapper Dillingers pants from Patterns by Figgy's
tee for two also from Patterns by Figgy's (which will be my first try at knits -- I love the idea of being able to make t-shirts)
Oliver + S Nature Walk pullover and knit pants

I ordered the patterns from Pink Chalk Fabrics.  I highly recommend this independent shop!  Kathy is so nice, the website is amazing and she now does free shipping on patterns in the U.S.!

Phew!  That seems like a lot of sewing.  Anyone want to join me in the challenge next week?  Of course, I don't plan on getting all of these clothes sewn next week -- I'd be a one-woman sweat shop if I tried that.
