Now that I'm mobile again, we decided to head out Sunday morning for a little adventure. After a breakfast of French toast and bacon, we took the bus to our favorite bubble tea shop (we don't actually get bubble tea, rather we prefer a delicious chocolate drink without the tapioca balls). There's a park nearby and we sat while Dag ran around the trees. We had a nice chat with a Chinese woman who is studying English. Then we decided to head down the street in a direction we had never gone before. We found a couple great shops that sold lovely housewares and accessories, including Japanese zakka items. Of course, I was in heaven! I resisted most of the adorable items but did take home these:
 |
| a little tin for storing colored pencils |
 |
| some sweet buttons |
 |
| little clips for hanging artwork |
And my favorite purchase of the day, a chalkboard for writing the weekly menus!
It wasn't until after I bought the chalkboard that I realized I didn't have any chalk. Fortunately, a friend has some and has agreed to share with me! The board has French writing on it but it doesn't really make any sense -- especially the "/g..." but I love it despite this, or maybe because of this.
Admittedly, this post would be more interesting if I had pictures of the actual adventure but we forgot the camera. Maybe next Sunday!
Sounds like fun! Glad you are mobile again!
